Spafford and sister, Miss Mary Bird, returned Tuesday from Florida where they spent the winter. MET TRAGIC DEATH Mr & Mrs T.J. Carpenter and Miss Laura Vroman went to Driftwood on Friday to attend the funeral of five year old Mrcellus Voman, a nephew. The child fell into a vat while playing about the tannery of which his father is supperintendent and died within two hours after being rescued. PURCHASES PROPERTY Commissioner Frank Lent has purchased the Jones house on the corner of West & Fourth streets and is making improvements about the same. HAS GOOD POSITION Miss Bertha Smith has a good position in the office of the glass company.
