Rev. Mr. Conklin of Hermitage officiated. The remains of Aaron DeGroff, a old time resident of this place were laid at rest in our cemetery, Wednesday, by the side of his wife. He was an uncle of Mrs. Ada Baker and Willis Morgan of this place. He didn’t raise Eugene and his 1st wife (my gg grandmother is buried under her maiden name in Java NY where her parents lived. Eugene DeGroff (great grandfather went to prison for stealing wheat. My ggrandmother divorced him and my grandmother rarely saw him. My Dad only saw him a couple times. I found out on my own about his prison time. Not sure if my Dad knew.
