Dr. William G. Jackson
The Board of Directors of Charles Cole Memorial Hospital announce the appointment of Dr. William G. Jackson, M.D., as an active, practicing medical staff member. He will commence medical practice at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital on Monday.
Graduating from Hahnemann Medical College of Philadelphia, Doctor Jackson was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (National Honorary Medical Fraternity) and is certified as a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. His internship and residency in internal medicine were served at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. For the past year Doctor Jackson has had his own private medical practice in Hendersonville, N.C.
Dr. Jackson, a native of Munhall, his wife, Carol Jean Kistler Jackson, and their four children: Billy, 10; Timmy, 8; Sally, 5; and Carrie, 2, will reside in Coudersport. Dr. Jackson is the son of Dorothy Grover Strang, formerly of Ulysses.
Local Woman Becomes ill While Visiting Daughter
Mrs. Viola Nelson, Coudersport, has been visiting with her daughter Mrs. Ernest St. Clair of Buffalo. While there she suffered a slight heart attack and was taken to Mercy Hospital.
Mrs. Ed Fisher of Coudersport, daughter of Mrs. Nelson's, visited her this weekend. Mrs. Nelson is now home from the hospital and will recuperate for several weeks at the home of Mrs. St. Clair.
Mrs. Fisher reports that her mother, who is 94, would like to hear form her many friends in Coudersport. Her address is 30 Hybank Rd., Buffalo, N.Y. 14224. Her condition is now imporved.
Geneseean Honored For Scholastic Achievement
Duane G. Price, of Genesee, was among 240 undergraduates honored at Pennsylvania State University, Sunday, June 4, for outstanding scholastic achievement. Duane received the President's Freshman Award which is presented to first-year students who have completed two terms with a 4.00 average.
Audit Report Is Released For Austin Fire Relief
Robert P. Casey, auditor general, has released the report of the audit of the Austin Firemen's Relief Association for 1970. The only change from previous audits was listing the savings account value in investments rather than in the cash balance to more accurately express the cash balance of current funds.
