Flora A. (Upham) Craw was the daughter of T. D. and Esther Upham.
She was the 1st wife of Rev. Alanson Adelbert Craw.
He was a minister in the Genesee Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Flora A. Upham was born February 4, 1854, in Marathon, Cortland County, New York.
She was the daughter of T. D. and Esther Upham, who were Baptists. Flora was converted and joined the Baptist Church at fifteen years of age.
At seventeen she married Rev. Alanson A. Craw, and moved with him to Niagara County, New York, where he was for a time engaged in farming and teaching.
In the fall of 1875 he confided to his wife that God had called him to preach. She urged him to proceed at once to obey the call. Their first appointment was at Sanborn, Niagara County, New York, in the fall of 1876. Here she helped him much in promoting a revival by her work among the young people.
She traveled with her husband in the itinerant ministry for twenty-five years. She never refused to go to even the poorest appointment. She always made the best of what she found. If the parsonage was poor she would bring about its repair.
At Coudersport, Potter County, Pennsylvania, she herself, circulated a subscription paper and secured funds with which to build a new parsonage.
She was exceedingly practical in church and home. She stirred-up Ladies Aid Societies to heroic achievements. She cared well for her home. Without lavish extravagance she set a good table, and clothed her children respectably. She never kept a kitchen-girl or sewing-girl when able to be about herself. When asked once if she did not want a hired-girl she said she was not strong enough to keep one.
Sister Craw was well posted on current events, a great reader of books and periodicals. She was interested in all reforms, was prominent in Woman's Christian Temperance Union work, was a staunch prohibitionist, always on the right side, and hence always on the Lord's side.
Cheerful and resigned to the last, she met death as "one who wraps the drapery of his conch about him and lies down to pleasant dreams."
She died of dropsy of the heart at the parsonage of the Olean: People's Church, New York, February 9, 1902.
The funeral was conducted by the writer and neighboring pastors.
Five of her children survive, two of whom share the loneliness of a motherless home with our brother bereaved.
