J. Erwin Potter, 62, of 11 Ave. B,, Coudersport, died Wednesday (Dec. 16, 1970) in Cole Memorial Hospital. He had been in ill health for some time.
A son of Wolliam G. and Ella Chaffee Potter, he was born on Feb. 19, 1908 in Raymond. He was married to the former Cloma Jestes in Boone, N.C. on Aug. 17, 1934.
A lifelong resident of Coudersport, he had been employed as a farmer and heavy construction worker. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and Central Grange 1216.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are two sons, Walter E. Potter and Rodney E. Potter, both of Coudersport; two daughters, Mrs. William (Phyllis) Gaberseck of Coudersport and Mrs. Brian (Linda) )Kennedy of Buffalo, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; three brothers, Harold Potter and Gordon Potter, both of Ulysses and Frank Potter of Bradford; two sisters, Mrs. Leo (Myrtle) Miller of St. Cloud, Fla., and Mrs. Ellsworth (Nina) Miles Easton of Perry, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Burton Wilkins, pastor of the Alliance Church, officiated at the Saturday afternoon funeral in GrabeFickinger Funeral Home. Burial followed in Raymond Cemetery, Ulysses RD.
Pallbearers were, William Potter, Zale James, Frank Woodcock, Terry Snyder, Frank Gaberseck, Melvin Setzer and Joseph Gaberseck..
