Mr. George Reynolds Hollida, a prominent farmer and a gentleman well-known in Jefferson and Berkeley counties, died very suddenly last Saturday night of apoplexy at his home near Scrabble. Mr. Hollida had retired early in the evening, apparently as well as usual, but in an hour or so awoke suffering greatly. He only lived a few minutes, but rec. ognized his wife, who was with him. He was about 64 years old. The funeral services were held on Monday and were conducted by Rev. J. R. Van Horne, assisted by Revs. D. M. Moser and H. C. McDaniel. The remains were interred in Elwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown. The funeral concourse was one of the largest ever seen here, showing the esteem in which the deceased was held by his friends and neighbors. Mr. Hollida, besides a wife, leaves four sons and one single and two married daughters to mourn their great loss.
