DEATH TAKES SENATOR ISAACS

Succumbs to Heart Failure At Late Home on Short Line Pike.

William Isaacs, 63, died of heart failure late Wednesday night at his home near
Berea on the Short Line Pike. Mr. Isaacs had been in failing health for several
weeks due to various complications. Mr. Isaacs is survived by his wife, Matilda
Bowman Isaacs, & three children, Mrs. Ruby Short, Hillendale, Saskatchewan,
Canada, Corporal Murland Isaacs of Fort Lewis Washington & Harry Isaacs of
Berea.

He also leaves two brothers & two sisters, Andrew Isaacs of Somerset Ky. Pleas
Isaacs of Bellington, Washington, Mary E. Morris & Lizzie Isaacs of Bond, Ky., &
Mrs. S.F. Lucas of Berea. Mr. Isaacs served one term as state senator this
district. The funeral services will be held at his late home Friday afternoon,
Mar. 20, at two o’clock; conducted by his cousin C. C. Isaacs.

DEATH TAKES SEN. ISAACS

Former Senator From This District Succumbs After Long Illness

William Isaacs, 63 years old, former state senator from the 29th district, died
at his home in Berea after a protracted period of illness.

A native of Owsley Co., Ky. Senator Isaacs had been a resident of Berea for the
major portion of the past 28 years. He had operated a hardware business & held a
position as traveling salesman & lived in Canada for several months. He was
elected to the Kentucky State Senate in 1931 & served one four year term, being
defeated when he ran for re-election last year. He was a life long member of the
Republican Party.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Ruby, who lives in Canada with her
husband. Whose name the Register was unable to learn, & two sons, Murland Isaacs
who resides in Washington, & Harry Isaacs who lived with his father at home.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow in Berea but no arrangements have been
announced. The body was taken from the home where Mr. Isaacs died to the
Rominger Funeral Home in Berea.
