"Mrs. E. C. Darrin
Resident of Coudersport for Past Thirty-Six Years
Death claimed Mrs. Caroline G. Darrin at the Potter County Memorial Hospital Thursday (Apr. 19, 1962) after an illness of only three days.
She had been a resident of Coudersport since 1926, coming with her family from Port Allegany where they had resided for 18 years.
Mrs. Darrin was born Jan. 24, 1885, at Wister, Pa., near Renova. She was a daugther of Charles and Idella Dunkle Golden. She was married to Edwin Charles Darrin at Ridgway, Aug. 4, 1903.
Fifteen children were born to the family, all but one of whom are living. Charles Darrin died in 1957.
Surviving with the husband and father are:
Helen Sonnekalb of Coudersport, Edwin Darrin Cornell, Franklinville; Mrs. Marthadell Stevens, Buffalo; Robert Darrin, Coudersport; Howard Darrin, Buffalo; Elwood Darrin, Coudersport; Mrs. Ethel Bittrich, Inglewood, Calif.; Joseph Darrin, Coudersport; Mrs. Gertrude Cannon, Bermuda; Mrs. Ruth Tingley, Cuba, N.Y.; Richard Darrin, Long Beach, Calif.; James Darrin, Clarence, N.Y.; Mrs. Harriet Habermehl, Buffalo, and Miss Phyllis Darrin, Buffalo. There are 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Rogers of Ridgway, a brother, John Golden of Ridgway.
Mrs. Darrin was a member of Park Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services following prayer at Grabe Funeral Home was held from the Park Methodist Church at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon, with the Rev. Raymond C. Shaw officiating. Burial was in Eulalia Cemetery."

"Mrs. E.C. Darrin of Coudersport Dies at Age of 77
Coudersport (Special) -- Mrs. Caroline G. Darrin, 77, of Port Allegany Road, died Thursday evening at the Potter County Memorial Hospital here following a brief illness.
She was born at Wister, Clinton County, near Renovo, on Jan. 24, 1885, the daughter of Charles and Idella Dunkle Golden. She married Edwin C. Darrin on Aug. 14, 1903, in Ridgway.
The family lived in Port Allegany before moving to Coudersport in 1926.
She was a member of the Park Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband and 14 of her 15 children. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles.
Daughters surviving are Mrs. Helen Sonnekalb of Coudersport; Mrs. Ethel Bittrich of Englewood, CA; Mrs. Gertrude Cannon of Bermuda; Mrs. Ruth Tingley of Cuba, NY; and Mrs. Marthadell Stevens, Mrs. Harriet Habermehl, and Miss Phyllis Darrin all of Buffalo, NY. Sons surviving are Robert, Ellwood, and Joseph of Coudersport; Edwin of Franklinville, NY; Howard of Buffalo, NY; Richard of Long Beach, CA; and James of Clarence, NY.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Rogers of Ridgway; one brother, John Golden, also of Ridgway; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at a local funeral home starting at 2 p.m. today. A family prayer service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home, followed by services at 2 o'clock in the Park Methodist Church, the Rev. Raymond C. IHA officiating. Burial will be made in the Eulalia Cemetery."
