PA death cert 1907 Emeline Love Knapp

Note: there are two significant errors in her death certificate attached as a photo to this memorial. First, her father's name was Thomas Love. If the death certificate is carefully examined, it appears that her son Frank Knapp wrote his name in (or was written in by someone else) and then the error was noticed and, although his last name Knapp was stricken out and the name Love written over, Frank's first name was not erased and her father's correct first name Thomas was not inserted. Maybe the fact that the informant on the death certificate was Emeline's son Thomas Love Knapp, who was named after her father, might have added to the confusion. The second mistake on the death certificate was in the maiden name of Emeline's mother: it was Huntley, not Hamilton. This mistake and the absence of a noted birth location for Emeline's father might be due to the fact that Emeline's father passed away years before Frank Knapp and Thomas Knapp were born and Emeline's mother would remarry before either of the two was born and would die when one was less than 5 and before the other was born.

Emeline Maranda Love Knapp was the oldest child of Thomas Love and Mary Huntley Love. She married James Hoyt Knapp in 1845 and would have 12 children, seven of whom survived to adulthood. A photo of a hand-written family history, including the birth dates of Emeline and her husband and their marriage date and location as well as the complete names and birth dates (and some death dates) of all of her children, are found in the photo attached to the Find A Grave of her husband.
