• YOUTHFUL COUPLE SEEKS MATRIMONY
Boy Sixteen and Girl Fourteen Secure Only Marriage License of Week Here.
Clarence L. Kelligan, sixteen years old, and Evelyn Nettie Stewart, fourteen, both of Oswayo, appeared Tuesday at the office of Prothonotary Swet-land and made application for a marriage license. The youthful prospective bride was accompanied by her father, Ernest Stewart, who gave his consent for the girl to become a wife, but it seems young Kelligan's parents do not live in the vicinity and proceedings had to be halted until a guardian could be appointed.
Ethel Hawley was appointed, gave her consent to the union and it is believed the boy and girl are husband and wife before now.
This very unusual license is the only one issued during the last week at the prothonotary's office here.
