John W. Taylor, 94 died this morning at 6 o'clock at his home in Alma. He had resided in Alma most of his life.
Mr. Taylor leaves his widow, one sister, eight children, 43 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
He was born April 6, 1858, in Cornplanter, Pennsylvania, a son of Joseph and Lucy Denton Taylor.
He was married in 1884 to Alta Messler who survives together with these children. Gilbert Taylor, Bolivar; Issac Taylor, Alma; Mrs. Nina Olmstead, Bells Camp, Pa; Mrs. Ethel Gorton, Alma; Mrs. Blanche Lunn, Andover; Wayne Taylor, Shinglehouse, Pa; Mrs. Henry Terrette, Shinglhouse, Pa; Mrs. Donald Scott, Alma; The surviving sister is Jennie Dickerson of Vernonia, Oregon
Mr. Taylor was a member of the United Bretheren Church of Alma
There will be a prayer service at the late home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock followed by services at the UB church of Alma at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev James Burford will officiate with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.
