· If only these revolvers could talk! These two sidearms - one a .38-40 Colt “Peacemaker,” and the other a .32 Special - were once owned and carried by William Anderson “Devil Anse” Hatfield, the patriarch of the feuding Hatfields of Logan County, WV.
The pistols were eventually passed down to Henry D. Hatfield (shown holding the handguns), of Sarah Ann, WV. You could say he deserved ownership of the weapons since Henry was one of the beloved grandsons of Devil Anse and Levicy Hatfield. Henry’s brother, Tennis, is shown at left.
