This was out in San Diego; US Coast Guard flying in the PBY. Cool story....Dad came out for my 60th and we surprised him by flying over to Arlington Airport where there was a restored PBY. You should have seen his eyes. I had arranged to have him have his picture taken in the same pose as 70 yrs. earlier. He climbed right up the ladder and got in with the biggest smile on his face. Lugene made all of us a copy of the original and the one 70 yrs later. Priceless!!

Oops I got the pics mixed up. I thought I had posted the one with him in the PBY and this one is of him in a Grumman Goose J4 patrolling plane that the Coast Guard used. It's also an amphib. Thanks for the correction... Now my bubble is inflated again!
