Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative board chairman Lowell Geiser (left) and President and CEO Craig Eccher congratulate Brailee Linden of Coudersport for being selected to receive a Claverack/Tri-County Rural Electric Scholarship award at Mansfield University.

MANSFIELD, PA -Brailee Linden of Coudersport, a second-year student at Mansfield University, has been selected to receive a Claverack/Tri-County Rural Electric Scholarship for the 2014-15 school year.

Linden, a 2012 graduate of Coudersport High School, is the daughter of Michelle and Gordon Black of Coudersport. She is enrolled in Mansfield University’s radiology technology program.

Tri-County and its partner cooperative, Claverack REC, jointly endowed the scholarship fund at Mansfield University in January 2000, with a goal of providing financial assistance to cooperative members or their dependents pursuing a degree at the university.

Scholarship selection is based upon meeting established academic criteria and demonstrating the highest traits of leadership, citizenship, and character.

Scholarship winners receive funds every semester for up to eight semesters, provided they maintain full-time enrollment status at the university and meet specified scholarship standards.

A member of the State System of Higher Education, Mansfield University attracts many students from throughout the partner cooperatives’ service territories.

Member-owned, non-profit electric utilities, Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative, with headquarters in Wysox, and Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative, based in Mansfield, provide electricity to more than 32,000 members, primarily across the state’s Northern Tier.
