Death of an Old Man.
On Monday of last week the oldest man in Potter county, and doubtless in the union breathed his last. His name was Samuel M. Lovely, of Pike township, and was 108 years of age. When a boy, he resided in New Jersey with his parents, and during the Revolutionary war, saw General Washington many times and often held his horse when Washington stopped at his father's hotel, for which he always received a piece of money from the General. For many years he has resided in Pike township, and for several years has been totally blind. He was held in high esteem by his neighbors, and was a man of many good qualities. -- Wellsville Democrat.
