John C Wetzel no. She married 2 Blys. maybe a transcription error? Koonse could be taken for House I suppose.

Darlene Walmsley Yep! 1900 census, Thomas's parents-in-law are living with them. A very sloppily written 'Koonce' looked like 'House' to me, so I mis-identified Tillie Koonce as Tillie House. Mystery solved, even more so, that I won't waste time looking for how they might be related to me through 'House'. And I can merge Matilda "Tillie" House and Tillie Koonce as the latter. ????Reply1h

Spelling of Koonse/Koonce varied from document to document. Even Tillie's dad spelled it differently from time to time. ????

Tillie's mother, Eva Strite Koonce, died Christmas day in Millport, PA 1939, a year after my father's family moved there from coal Center. Christy & Melda Varney Wetzel were my grandparents.

John C Wetzel yes. Eva was my Great great grandma. She moved in with Tillie and 2nd husband Lon when they married and moved to Millport.
