The boards was put as close together as they could get them. A lot of times there was cracks. Down the road from me there was still some houses build the same way and people was still living in them. Cold in the winter time.

-Watson E. Gore
A typical home in the Hammersley. Unpainted with a kitchen, dining room, and two bedrooms on the ground floor and a crawl space on the second floor, it was the home of William E. Gore for the five years that the Goodyears lumbered in the area. With Dolly Gore are her five children;
- Bob, - Max,
- Bessie, - Hazel,
- Watson.
