I’ve been trying to collect as much information as I can about my great grandfather who lived in Turtlepoint! I’ve got a lot of stories from my family, but I’m curious how the community remembers him! I miss him very much though I’ve never met him and I’m hoping learning about him will help me know him.

I would love who knew my great grandfather Lloyd “PeeWee” Cochran; he had a store in Turtlepoint and drove a school bus in Port. Drop a comment if you have something fun or a memory of him!

Sandy Johnson PeeWee was my school bus driver. I remember being heart broken when he retired from driving. However we lived just up the road from the store and riding bike to grab some snacks was a regular event. He was a very nice man.

Dottie Abbott When we lived in Turtlepoint Peewee was our bus driver on Newell Creek. Great person as was his family. Bonnie you look just like your dad. Well i should of said alot like your dad.

Debb Mullin PeeWee, Marge, Bonnie & Ted all super super nice people. Made everyone feel like good friends. Simpler times, fantastic people. Turtlepoint was a very loving community. Proud to have come from there. Today PeeWee would be the Mayor of Turtlepoint! ????

Joe Haskins Dianne you probably don't remember us having tires fixed there. We used to get bottles of pop from the cooler. PeeWee and Marge were always nice. You can still find Bonnie and Carlson's, I think...
I also grew up with Crystal, Tonya, and twins..
I remember them closing, very sad.

Cassie Howard I remember when he drove bus! My cousins rode that bus and once in a while we would ride it. He was the sweetest man! Always so happy. I remember how sad I was when I heard of his passing!

Sussie Slaugenhaupt Hitt When we were younger and my parents would take us to the store your dad would always give my brother a banana ???? and my mom jokingly said not to give him bananas any more because it makes him have diarrhea. So the next time we went in your dad gave my brother a banana and handed my mom a pack of diapers! ????
