MRS. GEORGE HOLCOMB
Mrs. Bessie Holcomb, 88, died at her home in Coneville on Sunday, August 11, 1968, following a long illness.
She was born on Oct. 8, 1879, at Humphrey, NY, a daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Guthrie Armstrong. In 1900 she married George Holcomb who died in 1947.
She had been a resident of Coneville for over 50 years. She was a member of the Hebron Union Church and Hebron Grange.
She is survived by
- a daughter, Mrs. Helen Lawton of Coneville;
two sons,
- Chester of Sharon Center and
- Mark of Reading Center, NY;
14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren;
two sisters,
- Mrs. Lillian Kinney of Conewango Valley, NY and
- Mrs. Ruth Sweet of Salamanca
and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from her late home yesterday afternoon with Rev. John McDole of the Hebron Union Church officiating.
- Interment was in Rathbone Cemetery at Coneville. Memorials may be made to the Hebron Union Church.
