JOHN TURNER, 22nd Signer.
...
At all events, John Turner came out on the Mayflower, with two sons. Before the first winter was over father and sons had succumbed to the first sickness, and, if they were allowed marked graves, even they may have been lost in the general decay, when Marjorie, the daughter he left behind, and who is said to have reached this country, arrived.

I reposted this. I didn’t know if was readable the first time.

Dayton Mix
The “Mix” clan traces back to Thomas “Meekes” who emigrated from England in 1639 to the newly established New Haven colony (before it became part of the Connecticut colony). After a lusty little affair (taking three pages in the colony court records). He married Rebecca, the daughter of Nathaniel Turner mentioned in the article above. I read one note on one of the relative’s family tree notes that Nathaniel had Pilgrim forebears. It had to have been tight timing, because he was already well established in New Haven when Thomas arrived from England in 1639. So to be descended from a pilgrim who arrived in Massachusetts in 1620 is suspect in my way of doing math. I’d love for this to be true, but...

This neither proves or disproves the Mayflower Theory..... there is however proof that John Turner and his two sons who did arrive on the Mayflower did not survive that 1st winter 1564-1621 .

Thanks for the Memorial, Grace. Below is a great book on the background of the pilgrims and why they wanted to make the journey, the journey, and the first year or so on land or docked. Cheney depicts conditions so well! In the ship, they were constantly wet and cold, and... seasick. It's a wonder any of them survived at all, but thank Goodness those who did, did!
