Roudolf was also married to Mary Erway on the other side of the family. Many of the Erways are descendants of the Mosch's & Kortz"s.

Ann Bernstein, this probably is not your grandfather's certificate. According to the Mosch genealogy, there are five Walter Moschs:
- Walter Davey Mosch 1896-1969 (son of Christian Robert Mosch),
- Walter Davey Mosch Jr 1918-1921,
- Walter Fredrick Mosch 1897-1997,
- Walter Frank Mosch 1927-1981 (son of Walter Fredrick Mosch),
- Walter Arthur Mosch 1951 (son of Walter Frank Mosch).
I think this certificate is for Walter Davey Mosch, because it is in the possession of his grandson, Ken Habeck.

You are right, I know he was born in the 1800’s - 1914 a little late for primary school.

Ist there another Walter candidate? The two likely candidates, as you've identified them, would have been 16 and 17 years old, a little old for 8th grade. I have Walter Davey's birth at 05 Jan 1898; Walter Frederick at 07 Apr 1897. I only have the five Walter's you've listed, the others being clearly impossible for this awardee.

Barbara Piaget, I noticed in the Mosch genealogy that Frank Tucker wrote, he has your dad as Walter Frederick Mosch.

Interesting, sad really, Rudolf died less than four years after signing this at the age of 40.
