Engineer Killed.
Thos. Maroney, a former employe of the C&PA RR, but for some time with the B&S RR, was killed at Hammersley Saturday.
The accident which caused the unfortunate man's death was as follows: Mr. Maroney was engineering the train from the woods, loaded with logs, and on going down a steep grade he losts control of the engine which rushed on at a high rate of speed. Besides Mahoney (Maroney? -jcw) there were two men on the train, the fireman and scalee, and all three jumped in different directions. The other men were not injured, but Maroney struck a bank and rolled back toward the train and a projecting log struck him on the head, breaking the skull and killing him instantly.
