That photo appears to be in the same room of one i posted early this morning labeled First and main st Coudersport. Would you happen to know if there is a collection or who the photographer was? I know I've seen several others before too.

I think the background is a curtain drop, for the purpose. We see it and similar in many of the turn-of-the-century photos in Coudersport.

I can usually identify the approximate date on photos by the clothing worn, but this one is very puzzling--and more than just the lacy trim on Mr. Schutt's breeches. They appear to be in costume--the woman seated on the left is dressed like the 1850s, and the other women .........???? That one seated on the right looks like she's supposed to be an old lady. Maybe costumes for a play? This picture is not from the 1850s. 1880s maybe. ????

Just a guess - since both Louise's Obituary and Lewis's obituary both mention they were Methodist Church members, It cold be taken inside the church and depending on the church, could be very conservative clothing wise. Or not. Just a thought.
