You got it, Chuck. My dad used to hang around with Danny when we lived in Roulette and he came to the big city of Coudersport. Eddie Easton was at the radio station then and he and my dad were good friends. Dad and Danny talked on the phone a couple of times every year for as long as Dad lived. Danny was the public address announcer for the Buffalo Bills.

I was working at WFRM one day when Danny came by and Ed let him go on the air as a guest DJ. It was a revelation to me, he made the station sound great! I was busy telling myself it wasn't possible to sound very good with that awful antique equipment but hearing what Danny could do with it made me realize I was kidding myself and had better get busy. I would never have had my 56 year broadcasting career had that not happened.

Danny was incredibly lucky to inherit Morning Drive on WKBW. When that station started up in 1957, it hired the top DJ's from the top markets all across the country. Gradually they moved on, and that's where Danny got his break.
