THE DAILY OIL REVIEW
• WETZEL'S CAVE.
Party of Young People Visit and Explore Its Beauties.
A number of the young men and their lady friends of Jacksonburg observed Memorial Day by visiting Wetzel's Cave. This is' supposed to be the cave in which Wetzel hid during his famous fights with the Indians. It is located about four miles from Jacksonburg.
In some way the party got separated, and part of them got lost, but after hunting for a path aided by a great deal of yelling they joined the others at the ? cave. After all the party arrived the cave was explored. Then the lunch was served. After lunch several pictures were taken at the mouth of the cave, then last, but not least of the day's program, was a welcoming address by W. 0. Gallahue. His delightful address was heartily applauded, and by special request of the party he gave a fine and profitable speech on patriotism and Memorial Day. Then after a cordial invitation form him to visit the cave again the party returned home tired, but pleased with their trip. The following persons made up the party: J. B. Pierson. Miss Trene Brownfield, J. H. Koontz, Miss Alice Perkins, H. T. Pierce, Miss Bertha Wilcox, S. L. Martin, Miss Blanche Custer. P. D. Phillips, Miss Josephine Hill, L. L. Laplue,. Miss Pearl Labaugh, L. C. Campbell, Roy Wyneberger, Raymond Custer and Walter Reese..
