Bertie Ulkins
Bertie Ulkins Paul served as a company commander on the island of Cebu, Phillipines in 1945. A few months ago and 70 years later our oldest son who is Director of International Agreements for US Customs chaired a multinational meeting in the same place. Our son was able to work there in peace with people from around the world because Paul and millions more like him were sent to remote places like Cebu to secure that peace. Thanks Dad!

Dale Ulkins Brenda, I believe a professional photographer took it of them in some nightspot. There was the back of another woman's head sitting behind the. I blackened her out as there were also a lot of splotches in the photo background. I'm not positive, but this might have been on their honeymoon. Give your dad a hug for me. I'd give anything to be able to hug my parents. Oh, and I think I've told you before but my mom clipped all of the war stories from The Enterprise and glued them into scrapbooks. I have stories of your family.

Brenda Kenealy Williams Well, I love these old photo of great people that were a part of a wonderful childhood spent in a great little town. Anyhow, if you ever have the time to somehow scan those stories and message them to me I would be forever grateful. I have some but very disorganized. I might put in a good word for you with my blonde friend. The comments on my post for my Dad have been wonderful. Makes me tear up and smile at the same time.

Dale Ulkins Brenda, we've opened a can of worms. I pulled the first scrapbook which was from about the end of the war forward. I found your (and the blonde girl's birth announcements as well as half the class of '66. Since my mom was preggers with Duane, she must have thought this was a good idea to clip them all out and save them. I wonder if she could foresee Facebook? I'm going to have a busy posting day tomorrow! And this is the tip of the iceberg.
