Hi everyone ! I'm looking at a death certificate that says place of burial is "on Dwight Creek Rd." I'm thinking that's out Andrews Settlement way ? Is there a cemetery on Dwight Creek or has the name of that road changed ?

Dwight Creek Rd is off of Rt 49 close to Seven Bridges. Dwight Rd is close to Ford Hill. I don't know of any cemeteries on either Rd unless it would be a family plot on private property. Can you share a name with us?

The last name is Ordway or Ordaway. Phillis is the first name. Born 1906 and died 1908.

Belinda DeFlorian Green, I also found the death certificate on Ancestry. My guess is that she was buried on private property. I also see that Henry Cornelius was the informant. He is my 1st cousin, 3x's removed. He was married to Anna Burt, no doubt related to the Ethel Burt that is listed as the mother of Phillis. And how sad for that little girl...:(.

The article says "Edith" Ordway was the mother. Is "Edith" a mistake? or is "Ethel"? or are both correct? I'll look this up when I get a chance; it would be good to know.

Yes I thought so as well. :( I found the news clipping about it. Awful awful story. Anna Burt has a sad ending as well. She killed herself...was quite a story in the papers.

I'm going to have to look for those clippings...I know that Henry was involved some how in someone being killed. They had a car accident, but there was speculation that the person was hit over the head and did not die from the accident it'self. And I looked it up and Anna and Ethel were sisters. Dwight Rd is in Allegany Township. I'm very curious now as to where the Ordway's lived.

Here is the one about Phillis. It's a pretty significant find for me. It means my grandfather had a sister no one knew about.

Oh wow.... I see that it says they were living with Henry. And the description that is given for where they lived is definitely Dwight Creek Rd that I was talking about near seven bridges.

Right. Anna was married twice. She married Henry and then a Backus. Here is the article about her death.

That's really small....let me see if I can make it bigger. The man she was with actually killed himself not long after. They arrested him at first thinking he killed her....after they released him he too killed himself.

Belinda DeFlorian Green I'm really very curious now as to where they lived up Dwight Creek...The homes up there are all fairly new, and not many of them...quite a few camps though. So there must be a foundation some place...This will give me something more to research....lol Just what I need...lol

That's awesome ! lol Let me know if you find a family plot up there. Anna Burt's body was brought back to this area but I can not find a burial for her anywhere. I'd be curious to know if it might be in the same place as the young child.
