When was it built? What was the business L H Lincoln and Son (something to do with leather and chemicals)?

I sure hope they know what they are doing. The building and I am sure soil is polluted from chemicals they used to tan the leather with back then. It makes me wonder if there has been any testing done before they started ripping it down. Hope the people doing it are wearing hasmat suits. Their pee pees are going to fall off if they don't.

The new building being build on that site is going to be used as a shelter for orphans. I would like to thank everyone who made this possible.

As 3:31 poster said, care must be taken in this demolition/cleanup for sure! The chemicals used back in the days of full operation were most certainly a hazard back then and still lurke in the hallows. The neighbors may want to remain inside as who knows what will be released into the air!!

My father says there were a lot of cancer deaths in that neighborhood among people who were young. What is or was L.H. Lincoln and Son?
The people in charge of the orphanage that is being built there are having a meeting next week at Hebron Grange.
This is a private foundation and they will be seeking donations. They are bringing in orphans from the southeastern Pennsylvania area. Maybe it will create some jobs.
