_________
The husband of Mrs. Lucy Barber, of Alfred Centre, died recently under circumstances which aroused the suspicion of neighbors, and an investigation was made by the district attorney and sheriff.
It was found that the deceased died with Bright's disease, but that he was neglected by his wife, and that while he was dying she was searching the columns of a matrimonial paper with a view to selecting a future partner.
Mrs. Barber is the woman who secured a good deal of notoriety a few years ago by swearing in her vote at a state election.
-- Republican.
