CHARLESTON, W. Sept. 10.-
At midnight to-night Governor Atkinson received a telegram from Bob Hatfield a brother of Ellas Hatfield, who is on trial at Williamson for the murder of "Doc" Ellis, stating that a mob had left Logan this morning for Williamson to lynch the prisoner, and asking the governor to Instruct the officers what to do. The telegram was dated Gray.
The governor immediately wired Sheriff Keadle at Williamson to take the prisoner into the woods, and keep him there until toorrow, when Judge Doolittle will furnish a sufficient guard.
