This image is of Coleman Alderson Hatfield (1889-1970), a renowned attorney in Logan County, WV. Coleman was the son of Cap and Nan Hatfield, and the grandson of Devil Anse and Levicy Hatfield.

Sitting is Coleman's wife, Bertha Marie “Mossie” Caldwell Hatfield (Feb. 5, 1883 - May 6, 1963). She was from Spanishburg, in Mercer County, WV.

Besides being a lawyer, Coleman A. Hatfield was also a respected researcher of Hatfield history. As an adult, he was legally blind.

Hatfield and McCoy Feud my grandma was a Hatfield and she lost her vision in adulthood due to retinitis pigmentosa. Which can be hereditary
