· BROTHERS FOREVER: William J. Bennett once wrote, “History is a ribbon, always unfurling. History is a journey. And as we continue our journey, we think of those who traveled before us ...”
Three siblings pose for a impromptu photograph, which includes, left to right,
Tennyson “Tennis” Samuel Hatfield (1890-1953);
Emanuel Wilson "Willis” Hatfield (1888-1978); and
Joseph “Joe” Davis Hatfield (1883-1963),
all sons of William Anderson (Devil Anse) Hatfield (1839-1921) and Levicy Hatfield (1842-1929). These Hatfield men represent just one thin strand of that ever unfolding sash of colorful history; and these proud descendants are from the mountains of Logan County, West Virginia. See less

Thanks for sharing. I am so intrigued with these two families & how they lived especially living in the mountains before electricity or running water were used. I can’t imagine washing a family of their size laundry by hand & then preparing a full meal from scratch & not mentioning doing dishes & taking care of the children. Life was hard back then. Sorry I rambled on.
