· This is a rare image of Detroit "Troy" Hatfield, son of Anderson “Devil Anse” and Levicy Hatfield. He and his brother, Elias, were shot and killed during an explosive gun-battle with Octavio Jerome, a liquor business rival, on Oct. 17th, 1911 at Boomer, Fayette County, WV.
Octavio Jerome also died in the shootout with the Hatfields.
