twice married. In Virginia married Miss Nancy Talbert. . . . .(s)he died Pleasant Plain Dec 3 1867.
By first marriage 12 children.

In Cass Co., Mich. in 1850 he married 2nd, Miss Esther C. Talbot, dau. of John and Mary (McClure) Talbot. . . . .
She died 28 Oct 1871 Pleasant Plain, Iowa.
Two children:
- John T. Ellyson and
- Lydia Ellen, who married Frank L. Eck (see: Lydia Ellen Ellyson Eck). . . . ."
