Such is the case with the ancestors of Elizabeth Lavey Essex Herbstritt, daughter of John Lavey and Anna M. Essex of Kentucky. Her Lavey ancestors come to a dead end with her grandparents, who emigrated from Aquitaine, France. But her Essex ancestors can be traced from Kentucky (neighbors of the family of Abe Lincoln) to Maryland and back to England. Such is the case with DNA cousins, Wiliam “Rusty” Woods and DeAnna Jackey. Both share John Wesley and Nancy Ann Medcalf Essex.
