CHARLES AND THE DEVIL: Chris Hensley, a dear friend of the Hatfield and McCoy Feud Facebook page, submitted this photograph to us last year. Chris stated, "This is my grandfather, Charles Keeling (at right), with William Anderson “Devil Anse” Hatfield. The family story is that, for a short time, my grandparents lived just down the road from Anse and became friends." Circa 1912-1918, at Sarah Ann, WV.

Love hearing and seeing these actual pictures of these 2 families. Ranal and devil anse would have never thought the history of this feud would still be talked about today

Arbo Somn the Mccoys were not much into photography. The Hatfields were a little more affluent and, therefor, were in front of the lenses a little more. Additionally, Randall chose to be less visible and more reclusive later in life. There are just s… See more
