One of the few images - maybe the only photograph - of Levicy Chafin Hatfield smiling. She was known to be a strong woman of faith who studied the Holy Scriptures. She had endured many dark trials and suffered great personal loss over the years, but remained devoted to her family and her faith.

Levicy Chafin married Captain Anderson "Devil Anse" Hatfield in Logan County, WV, in 1861. See less
