Pic of Gallows built for Charles Brewster, found guilty
of the murder of Marshall Stryker.
Hanged Tues March 6th 1906 at the Potter County jail yard.
Stryker was shot @ 8:30 am May 17th 1905 by Brewster. He was the step-father of Brewster.
Stryker lived on his farm in Borie.
There is a Charles Brewster file. ]

Penny Goodenough My grandparents, Vesta and De VanDeBoe had a bookcase that was ma de with some of the wood from the gallows. The bookcase was mistakenly sold after they died.

Jo Whoareya According to this website which allows you to search by state, date, name and other I have found two up to 1920 Joshua Jones in 1839 and Charles Brewster in 1906. Both hanged for

Eric Wagner Pretty small turnout, If I remember correctly, The skull of Brewster is on display at the Historical Society. I seem to remember a story of a doctor that was going to try to brig him back to life.
