Mrs. Celia B. Bell, 89, of Manila was born on Sept. 20, 1916, at Banco and was a daughter of the late John Henderson "Hank" and Eliza Stollings Varney. She went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison.
Mrs. Bell was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifelong member of Manila Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her husband, Rothmel "Rod" Bell, on Aug. 31, 1989; one daughter, Betty Ferrell; one son, Lowell Bell; and two brothers, Demmie and Charley Varney.

She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Patsy and Frank Black of Avon Park, Fla.; and two sons and their wives, Tilden and Judy Bell and Gary and Susie Bell, all of Manila.

She was the beloved grandmother of eight: Charlene Litteral, Teresa Deskins, Randy Ferrell, Kimberley Dunlap, Rodney Bell, Pamela Bell, Kortni Bell and Ryan Bell. She had seven great-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are one dearly loved sister, Faye Workman of Gassaway, and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, at Evans Funeral Home, Chapmanville, with Ministers Randall Johnson, David Hale and Jim Owsten officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Ferrell, Chris Deskins, Ryan Bell, Sam Litteral, Steve Perdue and John Perdue.
