Evans Buck, Mable- JMB mother-in-law

Jeannette Buck
July 4
Remembering my mother-in-law, Mabel Evans Buck to day. She was born on July 4, 1896 and always enjoyed being a "Yankee Doodle Dandy!"
She and Dad Buck raised 9 wonderful children and enjoyed and loved every one of us as the family grew - and grew- and grew! Mother would look over the crowd in her living room sometimes and say to Dad, "Lawrence, just look what we started!"
This might not be her favorite picture, but this is the smile that welcomed any one of us when we came through her door.

Victoria Pirrung She was one of the kindest, most amazing people I ever knew. Back when kids could just roam free, her house was one of my favorite's on my route to the bus and the library. Once when I was about 6- I checked out the voluminous, New York Times Cookbook. She saw me struggling with it and invited me into her home where she quickly gave me a children's cookbook that I still have!

Kay Kear Engle Memories as a child are priceless, she showed us unconditional love and welcomed us at any time to just stop in. I have been blessed to live in Ulysses most of my life so even my children remember her well. Steve was mowing her lawn the day she died. He didn't get his usual milk and chocolate chip cookies that day. I asked her once how she made her chocolate chip cookies so soft and she said " I just used the recipe on the Baker chocolate chip package" That was my problem I was using nestles.

Patricia Young Conable What a great choice of a picture for this grand lady. It looks every bit HER as I remember her from being so many times giving of herself to help with needs @ the school level & programs. She was loved by many even outside the family.
