Relative of Local Woman Dies At Olean, N. Y.
John Davis, 81. Olean, N. Y., was found dead In his apartment early Monday afternoon. Death was attributed to natural causes.
Mr. Davis, a resident of Olean since March 1964, was born Oct. 30, 1883, near Rexville, Steuben County, N. Y. He was a son of Samuel and Mary Saunders Davis.
Prior to moving to Olean when he reired from farming, Mr. Davis had lived in Cuba. N. Y., for 40 years, where he had been employed on the Artoy Swift farm. He was an actdve member of the Olean Citadel of the Salvation Army.
Among his survivors are two half-sisters, Mrs. Anna Halstead, Buffalo, N. Y., and Mrs. Hattie Holt of Florida, and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Virginia Berfield, Coudersport, R.D. 4. He was preceded in death toy a sister, Mrs. Minnie Davis Hall Tauscher of Sweden Valley, and a brother, James Davis of Coudersport.
Funeral and committal services will be held from the Halwig Fu- neral Home, Inc., Olean, N. Y., Wednesday, Dec. 30, at -1:30 p.m.,

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Plotts of New Castle, Pa., and Mrs. Dorothy Long attended the baptismal service
