A Landmark Gone.
Last Wednesday evening about 6.30 the house known as the Lucy Barber house, occupied by Vern Barber and owned by W.B. Kenyon [Warren DeLancey Kenyon? -jcw], was discovered to be on fire. The fire caught from an old fire place and spread so rapidly that it was impossible to save the house. Nearly all the property of Mr. Barber was removed from the building. This house was built over 70 years ago, by Dr. Collins, the brick of which it was constructed being made at a brickyard located near Tinkertown. We understand that Mr. Kenyon had no insurance. Although in very poor conditionk the house was of considerable value to Mr. Kenyon, and we sympathize with him in his loss.
