WALTER FREDRICK MOSCH - WASHINGTON TRIP
It has been a tradition for many years for the Coudersport High School graduating class to take a trip to Washington DC as their senior trip. Not sure if they still do this, but I do remember my trip with the class of 1968.
The Potter County Historical Society has a few photos of some of the early trips, including this 1916 class photo in front of George Washington’s estate at Mount Vernon.
The numbers next to the names don’t make much sense and also there are 37 people in the photo with only 27 people listed. Maybe the list got chopped off? Walter Mosch’s name is listed, but I’m not sure if he is in the group or I just don’t recognize him. Perhaps his daughter Barbara Piaget, grandchildren Ann Bernstein, Jeffery Jeffrey Piaget, Mark Piaget, Mark Mosch, Walter Mosch or Germaine Williamson can pick him out?
Walter is the son of Emil Mosch and Wilhelmina Kortz, grandson of Karl Mosch and Caroline Scheider, Jacob Kortz and Katherine Pflugfelder.

Walter Mosch
My guess would be back row - 12th from the left.

The best that I can come up with would be: Back row, 5th from right. He was a tall man.

I think both of the people you have id’d are teachers, not students. They look too old. Wish I had a suggestion, but I suspect the tall ones with deep-set eyes. My bets are on the pompadour next to the lady hiding behind her hat. Barbara Piaget - thoughts?

Of course, the other possibility is that he's one of those listed but not showing up in the photo. ????

Knowing your grandfather's interests, he was probably touring George Washington's orchard ????when the photo was taken.

I would guess the third from the left, the hairline looks the same, but it is a guess!

Hi All, number 16 in the Washington trip of 1916, is my second cousin, Esther Velie. She married a gentleman by the name of Cassidy. Anyone with information on her, or any Velie (or Veley) is invited to contact me at gwveley@hotmail.,com. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
