Eleanor H. Dingman
Eleanor H. Dingman, 89, formerly of Shinglehouse died Friday (May 12 2006) in Sweden Valley Manor, Courdersport, after a shrt illness.
Born June 28, 1916 in Frinx Station (Coudersport), she was a daughter of Harry C. and Sophia Mosch Palmatier. In June of 1935, she married Isaac A. Dingman, who died Sept 19, 1982.
She was a graduate of Coudersport High School. She was employed as a bookkeeper at the former Carl Case Lumber Company in Shinglehouse. She later sold Stanley Home Products for many years prior to her retirement.
She loved antiques, especially collecting antique dishes.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy J. (Harold) Carr of Austin; 14 grandchildren; 31 greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Harry C. (Eugenia) Palmatier and Philip F. (Freda) Palmatier, both of Coudersport; a sister, Irene (Almon) Freeman of Ulysses; many nieces and nephews; and her longtime friend and companion, ewis "Louy" Hathaway of Shinglehouse.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dingman was predeceased by a daughter, Rosanne M. Wilson; three sons, Almon H. Dingman, James L. Dingman and Michael A. Dingman; and one sister, Betty Freeman.
Friends called Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, where funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday (May 15, 2006). The Rev. John Baney, pastor of the Austin United Methodist Church, officiated. Committal service and burial were held in the Hebron Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
