ERWIN OR KARL ?

Susanne Brown sent me this military photo, having it labeled as Erwin Mosch. As we know, Erwin Karl Mosch died of the flu epidemic of 17 Oct 1918 in Olean, NY. In his newspaper obituary, it mentioned that he has a brother Karl in France. That was the time that Karl was serving in the US Army, WWI between Apr 1917 and Nov 1918. He would have been 22 when Erwin died. Erwin was 30 when he died.

Herman Mosch was born 11 Apr 1896 in Germania, PA. He married Mildred Bosworth, daughter of Frank S. Bosworth and Inez Hattie Bosworth, in 1919. She was born 18 Apr 1896 and died 16 May 1967. Karl died 15 Dec 1967 in Elmira, NY

Karl was the sixth child of Karl Ernest Mosch and Anna Martha Susan Fowler, grandson of Carl Herman Mosch and Caroline Scheider.

Emil Mosch's sons Frank and Walter also were in France at the same time as Karl. They were in the forestry division, assigned to harvest timbers from the forest that Napoleon Bonaparte planted many years prior.
