In sorting through some left-behinds by my mom (Donavieve Leone Mosch, d. Of Otto Carl Mosch and Mabel Burrous), I came across some lose pages from an old scrapbook of newspaper clippings, many without dates, presumably from the Potter County Enterprise and Galeton Free Press- Courier. Some pertain to our family, others not; presented here as they appeared, in no particular chronological order from early 1930s to mid-1950s, they include some births, illnesses, deaths, trivia and triumphs, the ephemera of daily life. If you recognize some names and faces, feel free to comment.

Doug Vaughan No church meetings, imagine the howl that uncle Herm's order would evoke today from the anti-vaxers. But, 5 cases counted as epidemic of a very contagious, crippling, often fatal illness so quarantine was typical preventive measure until mass vaccination in the early 1950s.
