• Aged Resident Dies
Mrs. Albert Eggleston Spent Entire Life in Potter County.
Mrs. Henrietta Eggleston, whose whole long life was spent in Potter County, passed away at the Potter County Memorial Hospital, Friday, August 8, 1947. She had been ill four months.
Mrs. Eggleston was born at Hebron, August 2, 1862. She was a daughter of John and Emily Parker Hollenbeck. She married Albert Eggleston at Ulysses, in September, 1878.
Deceased was one of a family of 16 children. Only one brother, Adelbert Hollenbeck, Duschene, Utah, and a sister, Mrs. Florence Van Wegen, Elwood City, Pa., survive.
The Eggleston family had six children, three of whom survive. These are Mrs. Nellie Clark, Binghamton, N.Y., Mrs. Emma Brock, Roulette, and Lynn Eggleston of Shinglehouse.
Mrs. Eggleston was a fine Woman well beloved by neighbors and all who knew her. She had resided here 30 years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Curch.
Funeral service was held from the family home on Ross Street at 2:30 Monday afternoon. The Rev. Gordon Frederick officiated.
Interment was in Eulalia Cemetery in Coudersport.
Pallbearers were: Ronald Brock, Ernest Morgan, Robert Brock, Melvin Goodrich, Harold Wagner and Allen Randall.
In addition to those mentioned above, Mrs. Eggleston had eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Austin Doctor Goes To Emporium
Dr. William J. McGee of Austin has opened practice in Emporium. His office is in the William Pearson home at 210 West Fourth Street.
Dr. McGee is a graduate of Notre Dame University and St. Louis University School of Medicine. One year internship was served in the St. Louis City Hospital and until 1940 he was in general practice in Missouri and North Dakota when he enlisted in the Army Medical Corps.
Dr. McGee served six years in the Army, and since his discharge last January, has been in practice at Austin.
Louis Kolat Faces Very Serious Charge
Louis Kolat, about 40, was arrested, charged with assault and attempt to ravish a girl of 17 years. He was given hearing before Justice W. C. Klein Tuesday evening and held for court with bail fixed at $500. He was committed to jail but later released when he deposited the required sum in cash. Kolat was arrested by Chief Earl B. Smith..
