Walter Mohan, second from the right, is the only other identified person. The house on the right belonged to Joe Ruggles, who was in charge of the railroad. He was fatally injured at Wharton soon after the picture was taken when he slipped off a log car and lost his legs. The engine house is in the center rear and the coal shed is to the right. Locomotives were refueled by shoveling coal from gondola cars into their tenders.
