B.W. Tauscher Dies in Coudersport Monday

COUDERSPORT -- Bernie W. Tauscher of 510 E. Second St. died at 9:30 p.m. Monday at his home. He had been ill for the past two weeks.
Mr. Tauscher had been a life-long resident of this area. He was a carpenter by trade and spent many hours in making wood carvings after his retirement.
He was born in Sweden Township July 6, 1876, the son of F. William and Loretta Weimer Tauscher. He married the former Nellie Ayers on Aug. 30, 1910, at Dutch Hill.
Besides his wife he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Eileen Monroe, Ulysses; a son, W. Raymond Tauscher of Coudersport; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle House of Odin, and a brother, Ray Tauscher of Geneva.

Nellie V. Tauscher
Teacher For Years, Dies in Hospital in Coudersport
After an illness of a year,
Mrs. Nellie V. Tauscher, a resident of 510 E. Second St., Coudersport, died Thursday evening (Aug. 1, 1963). while a patient in the Potter County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Tauscher was born at Fairfax, Va., Dec. 7, 1886, a daughter of Charles and Ella Drake Ayers. She became the bride of Bernie W. Tauscher in Coudersport, Aug. 30, 1910. He died in 1961.
Deceased had been a teacher for 41 years when she retired in 1950. She had been a member of Park Methodist Church for 47 years, a member of the WSCS, the WCTU and of the Eastern Star.. She was a member of the Ladona Community Club and was its secretary- treasurer for eight years. She was loved and respected.
Surviving are
- a daughter, Mrs. Eileen Monroe of Ulysses;
- a son, W. Raymond Tauscher of Coudersport;
five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The Eastern Star memorial service was held at 8:00 Saturday evening at the Grabe Funeral Home. The funeral was from the Park Methodist Church at 2:00 o'clock Sunday with the Rev. LaRue G. Bender officiating.
Burial was in the Sweden Hill Cemetery.
