Dingman in Potter County, Pa. He served in the Civil War in Co. F 49th New York Infantry. Emma was born in 1845 in Couderspart, Pennsylvania. They had 2 children. Emma was married to ? Groves in 1873 and then to Charles Hyatt in late 1875 or early 1876. (Additional information included in Dingman family pages.) (1) Oscar H, born 10/1868 in Iowa, died 12/26/1872. (2) Adelbert Eugene, was born 5/2/1870 in Newton, Iowa, died 11/29/1949 and is buried in Tama, Iowa. At various times used A. E., Albert, Gene or Eugene, as his name. Court papers regarding his guardianship list him as Delbert E. Since his father died before he was born, he had successive court appointed guardians. His mother did not appear in court to post the bond required to be appointed his guardian. Over the first 10 years of his life, land his father owned was sold to handle expenses associated with this. In June 1880 he supposedly resided with his mother and her then husband Charles Hyatt. In 1884 he chose to have a farmer named Thomas Mitchell as his guardian and he then worked for him. He married Leticia Gresham (this was Aunt Margaret Hibbard's sister). They had 2 children. (1) Ira (2) Martin Kent born 1897 died April 1979 in Hayward, California. After her death, Eugene married Pauline Cecelia Mosey on 3/13/1906 in Dubuque, Iowa. She was a mail-order bride, born 3/6/1887 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, died 3/12/1928 in Tama, Iowa. They had 5 children. (1) Milo Eugene, born 1/14/1907 in Waterloo, Iowa, died 7/17/1987 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, married Nellie Rosella Burns on 8/23/1931. Nellie was born 7/13/1913 in Arlington, Iowa, died 3/11/1976 in Waterloo, Iowa. They had 2 children. (1) Beverly Mae, born 5/17/1933 in New York, New York, married Richard Albert Wildey on 2/28/1964.
